Gregory (Jean Sorel) appears to be dead on his arrival at the hospital, even though his body temperature is still normal. He is duly declared dead and sent for an autopsy. But Gregory is indeed alive, though paralyzed, and as he awaits the autopsy he tries to figure out what happened to place him here. Good, creepy film.

On his way to the meeting, Floyd, who has the diamonds in his possession, experiences car trouble and ends up in a motel run by Fred Norton (Massimo Girotti). It doesn't take long for Floyd to fall for Fred's wife, Michelle (Ursula Andress), and ends up in bed with her. But, now the diamonds are missing and matters take even more of a turn for the worse when Joe, suspecting a double-cross, arrives on the scene.
