Martin Q. Blank (John Cusack), a professional assassin, heads to Grosse Pointe, Michigan for two purposes: his 10-year high-school reunion and a business venture as a hit man. Once in town, he runs into Debi (Minnie Driver), the girl he stood up at the high-school prom. Former classmates cannot comprehend Blank's world and think he is joking when he describes his occupation as "professional killer." Good dialogue enhances this strange comedy/thriller.
