  High school French teacher Sabine (Arsinee Khanjian) assigns her class the project of translating a news story concerning airport security agents discovering a bomb that had been placed by a man into his pregnant girlfriend's luggage. One of the students, Simon (Devon Bostick), relates the story to his personal history in when his suicide-bomber father Sami (Noam Jenkins) wrecked a car, and he and Simon's mother Rachel (Rachel Blanchard) were killed, leaving Simon orphaned and now living with his Uncle Tom (Scott Speedman). Simon goes one step further and fashions the story by describing his father as a killer and posting the story on the Internet. The story now becomes an obsession provoking discussions about the difference between freedom fighters and terrorists.

  This movie within a movie–about filming the story of the Armenian holocaust, 1915-1918–features David Alpay as young Raffi. While carrying back sealed cans of movie film for the production company, a suspicious customs official (Christopher Plummer) begins questioning Raffi who reveals aspects of his own life as well as that of the Armenian people–including his own father who was an Armenian freedom fighter.

  I loved it. Probably a little campy but one of those 'Feel Good" movies that makes you glad that you watched it. AND the music was great!
There will never be another Jessica Tandy.

In an attempt to feel closer to his absent mother, Van visits his grandmother regularly and seeks help from Aline (Arsinee Khanjian) to get grandmother out of the home and back into the family.
