The Pink Panther series continues as Inspector Clouseau (Peter Sellers), the inept–but some would say brilliant–detective solves another crime. This story takes place in Benjamin Ballon's (George Sanders) mansion in the outskirts of Paris where parlormaid Maria Gambrelli (Elke Sommer) is accused of murdering her lover. Clouseau believes that Maria is innocent; however, Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Herbert Lom) is sure that she is guilty and is dismayed–once again–at Clouseau's handling of the case. The number of murder victims increases, but Clouseau is convinced that Marie is being framed and remains determined to prove her innocence.
