  Dr. Ravic (Charles Boyer) is a German surgeon who has fled to Paris to escape the Nazis. While illegally practicing medicine under a false name, Ravic is searching for German agent Haake (Charles Laughton) who had tortured him in Germany. Ravik falls in love with Joan Amadou (Ingrid Bergman) who is grieving over the sudden death of her lover. They become involved in a doomed love affair that hits a critical point on the day that war is declared between France and Germany.

  I saw this movie when I was still a kid and never forgot it. It seems to have dropped off the planet because I have never seen it offered up on TMC or AMC. I wonder if there are still copies around? If it can be bought, I will definitely be going for it.
