Hamburg, Germany, bank security expert Joe Collins (Warren Beatty) joins forces with hooker Dawn Divine (Goldie Hawn) to steal $1.5 million from crooks. The crooks include an Army sergeant (Scott Brady), a drug dealer (Arthur Brauss), and an attorney who has been double-crossing the mob (Robert Webber). They have rented bank safety deposit boxes in which to store their loot, and Joe has figured out how to go unnoticed by security cameras and switch the money into Dawn's safety deposit box. All goes well until the crooks catch on, and Joe and Dawn set out on a race across Germany with the crooks in hot pursuit.
