Karen's husband, Mack (Ed Harris) wants to forget the tragedy and go on with life, but Karen turns to hit man trainers for help and learns how to shoot a gun. Doob, tracks Karen down with plans to kill her.

When Jim meets truck-stop waitress Nash (Jennifer Jason Leigh), the two of them set out, evading the police, to stop John's murder spree and clear Jim's name.
