In his congressional campaign, Evan had promised to "change the world," and now God (Morgan Freeman) enters his life and asks him to follow up on his promise. God gives Evan a copy of the book "Ark Building for Dummies" and commands him to build an ark. Evan ignores the challenge, but when God provides him with an overnight growth of beard that he cannot shave off and a myriad of paired animals, Evan becomes convinced and gathers his sons around him to help build that ark.
