The annual Trans-American Grand Prix is a car race from Los Angeles to New York in which the winning purse is $100,000. Coy "Cannonball" Buckman (David Carradine) signs up for the race and brings his girlfriend Linda (Veronica Hamel) along. Cannonball leads the race, but ruthless driver Cade Redman (Bill McKinney) has plenty of tricks up his sleeve to beat him. The race continues until the drivers reach the Lincoln Tunnel and a multi-car crash. Among those making brief appearances are Sylvester Stallone, Roger Corman, and Martin Scorsese.

Once there, Flash meets and becomes enamored with Cheryl (Kim Richards), and his campers become enthralled with an alien, nicknamed Meathead, whose parents dropped it off at camp to earn an Earth merit badge. The rival Camp Patton, across the lake, is run by the evil Hershey (Hamilton Camp) who wants to take over Camp Sasquatch. Hershey challenges Camp Sasquatch to an end of summer boxing match in an effort to claim the camp for himself. Will Flash be able to save the day?
