Annie Banks (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) is getting married to Brian (George Newbern), and her parents George and Nina (Steve Martin and Diane Keaton) go through emotional ups and downs preparing for the big day. The wedding will take place in their home, and, even then, George is upset at the costs. Wedding consultant Franck Eggelhoffer (a hilarious Martin Short) is called in, but problems for George continue as he gets closer to the day when Annie will move on to her new life with Brian and away from George.
