Author Arlen Faber (Jeff Daniels) wrote the inspirational book "Me and God" 20 years ago, which is still popular, and Arlen is still considered to have all the answers. The reclusive Arlen begins to have back spasms which eventually causes him to seek help from Chiropractor Elizabeth (Lauren Graham). But she, as well as her son Kris (Lou Taylor Pucci), thought that Arlen could help them find out that Arlen doesn't have a clue.

Lulu (Melanie Griffith), a schizophrenic, leaves the mental hospital and shows up at her ex-boyfriend's, Ben (Patrick Swayze), home. She convinces him that they had a baby from their affair 17 years ago, and it is time to reunite with the son. Ben, unhappily married, agrees, and off they head to Wisconsin. But Ben's wife (Penelope Ann Miller) decides to head there too to see what's going on, including whether or not there is a son or just a rekindling of an affair. This comedy/drama is disappointing, especially considering the cast.

Ten years later, Clyde exacts revenge and kidnaps, tortures, and maims Clarence. After Clyde is arrested and jailed, he warns Nick that he will go on a killing spree if Nick cannot fix the fouled-up justice system that is not executing killers.

Aileen kills seven men in Florida and is known as the first female serial killer. Theron won an Oscar for Best Actress.
