  Amos Kollek presents a number of storylines about ordinary people trying to find love. Bella (Anna Levine) waitresses at a Manhattan diner, and during her off-hours she begins a very shaky relationship with a cab driver (Jamie Harris). Meanwhile, one of Bella's friends, Paul (Robert Modica), meets the widowed Emily (Louise Lasser), and another friend, Seymour (Victor Argo), is entranced by young Wanda (Valerie Geffner).
