  Terry (Colin Farrell) is an alcoholic gambler who works as an auto mechanic and has just bought a house with his girlfriend Kate (Sally Hawkins). His brother Ian (Ewan McGregor), who works for his father's (John Benfield) London restaurant, has fallen for actress Angela Stark (Hayley Atwell) who thinks he has money. Needing cash, these working-class London brothers make a deal with their wealthy Uncle Howard (Tom Wilkinson). They will murder his business associate in return for a large sum of cash. The murder goes as planned but leaves Terry suffering from guilt over the act. Can Ian help Terry find a way to live with it, or will their dark secret be revealed?

Jake turns up at the casino and confronts Macha, but everything goes wrong–including Jake learning from his doctor that he has only three days to live, and that serves to increase his thirst for revenge.
