Protection of the First Amendment is the subject of this docudrama, which reenacts the 1990 trial of Cincinnati museum director Dennis Barrie (James Woods). Barrie was prosecuted for exhibiting the sexually explicit photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe. An interesting examination of the museum's right to use controversial art in its exhibition.
