  During Prohibition, John Smith (Bruce Willis) passes through Jericho, Texas, on his way to Mexico. He encounters bootleggers Fredo Strozzi (Ned Eisenberg) and Giorgio (Michael Imperioli) who run the Italian Strozzi gang and Doyle (David Patrick Kelly) and Hickey (Christopher Walken) who head up the Irish Doyle gang. Smith sees the chance for making money and hires himself out to both gangs, plotting to play one against the other, stay in the middle, and take the profits for his own financial gain.

  Based on a true story, this heartwarming tale relates the ordeals of teenager Rocky Dennis (Eric Stoltz) who has the disfiguring disease, craniodiaphyseal dysplasia, that has doubled his head size. Rocky keeps a good attitude, and his mother Rusty (Cher) fights for Rocky's rights, but she turns to drugs to ease the pressures she endures when dealing with Rocky's problems. Undaunted, Rocky gets his own life in order and then works to keep Rusty away from her drugs.

A massive hurricane is formed and is to be aimed at Mexico, but things go wrong and it heads toward L.A. Young, finding out what his program is being used for, sets out to save L.A. Terrible.
