When a Puerto Rican family reunites at their parents home in Chicago for Christmas, family members–Iraq war veteran Jesse (Freddy Rodriguez), his struggling actress sister Roxanna (Vanessa Ferlito), lawyer brother Mauricio (John Leguizamo), and his workaholic wife Sarah (Debra Messing)–are told by their mother Anna (Elizabeth Pena) that she is divorcing their father Eduardo (Alfred Molina). This news causes the family to work together, and, in the process, they discover the true meaning of Christmas.
