In this sequel to "Are We There Yet?" Nick Parsons (Ice Cube) and Suzanne (Nia Long) have married and are living in Nick's bachelor apartment with Suzanne's children, Lindsey (Aleisha Allen) and Kevin (Philip Bolden). Their cramped lifestyle leads Nick to buy a fixer-upper home in the suburbs. It turns out that real-estate agent Chuck Mitchell (John C. McGinley) has conned Nick into buying a house loaded with disasters waiting to happen. Some of the problems include a leaky roof, termites, dry rot, and clogged pipes–and it doesn't take long for Nick to realize that Chuck is the only available contractor, which leaves Nick completely at Chuck's mercy.

Dewey's goal is to beat his former band in competition at the "Battle of the Bands" and make a name for themselves in the show business world.
