Based on a novel by Pulitzer-Prize-winner Carol Shields, this is a love story set during a Canadian winter. Talk-show host Tom (Bruce Greenwood) is on his way to his fourth marriage while his fiancee, Fay (Emilia Fox), has high expectations regarding love and marriage. After her parents' 40-year marriage breaks down, Fay's values are shaken and doubts arise as to whether or not love is worth the heartbreaks.
