Musician El Mariachi (Antonio Banderas) turns into a killer when he heads for a Mexican city to avenge the death of the woman he loved. He has killed a number of drug lords, and now only one drug king, Bucho (Joaquim de Almeida), remains on his list. Upon arriving in the town, El Mariachi is befriended by Carolina (Salma Hayek). But, there may be more to Carolina than meets the eye, and a bloody showdown lies ahead.
