Wally (Wallace MacDonald) and his adopted brother Ken (Ken Maynard) find themselves in the middle of a conflict between the cattlemen and the sheepmen. Their father, cattleman Winchester "Win" Thompson (Walter Law), hires gunman Butch Martin (Albert J. Smith) to get a sheepman to move, and Butch shoots him. The sheepman's daughter Judy (Ruth Hall) moves onto the Thompson ranch where Ken and Wally compete for her attentions–and, by story's end, Judy will pick one of them to live with happily ever after.

Later, Neil is killed, leaving Marcia (Kathleen Collins) a widow, and she becomes Jim's sidekick while Jim assumes Neil's identity. Jim joins forces with "Dude" Sanders (George "Gabby" Hayes), and they go off in search of the mysterious "The General" (Tetsu Komai) who is the Chinese leader of bandits. The bandits are vandalizing cattle hoping to stir up discontent among the ranchers so that they will not be noticed smuggling dynamite across the border. Surprises lie in wait–including who is the real leader of the bandits.

This offbeat Western features Ken Maynard playing two roles: one as good-guy sheriff Ken and the other as his weak and crooked brother Clem. After town bad-guy Rawhide (Fred Kohler) robs the bank and takes Ken's girlfriend, Mary (Cecilia Parker), hostage with help from Clem, Ken is blamed. After a change of heart, Clem tells Ken of Rawhide's hideout. Going undercover, Ken saves the day as Mary plays and organ loudly to distract gang members.
