Two poets, Siegfried Sassoon (James Wilby) and Wilfred Owen (Stuart Bunce), meet in an asylum during World War I. Dr. William Rivers (Jonathan Pryce) is the psychiatrist whose job it is to "cure" the men quickly so they can be sent back into battle. Based on a novel by Pat Barker, which is based on the real-life story of Siegfried Sassoon.
