Count Dracula is again played by Christopher Lee in this film that has him reappearing in London where he is revived by a group of hippies, led by Johnny Alucard (Christopher Neame), who are delving into black magic. Among the hippy group is Jessica Van Helsing (Stephanie Beacham) who happens to be the granddaughter of occult expert Lorenia Van Helsing (Peter Cushing). His grandfather is the Van Helsing who defeated Dracula many years ago. Now that Dracula is back, he targets the Van Helsing family and begins with Jessica. First, Dracula turns Johnny into a vampire, and Johnny then turns Jessica's boyfriend Bob (Philip Miller) into a vampire. Together, they lure Jessica into danger, and the gore continues with only Jessica's grandfather able to save her and put an end to Dracula's current terrors.

This film is the last of the series of "Dracula" movies starring Christopher Lee as Dracula. Vampire researcher Lorimar Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) tries to stop him, and Count Dracula kidnaps Van Helsing's granddaughter Jessica (Joanna Lumley) and holds her hostage. When Van Helsing learns that it is Dracula–his arch enemy–who is holding Jessica hostage, will he finally do away with Dracula?

A good cast makes this TV remake of Agatha Christie's story fun to watch. Aging lawyer Sir Wilfred Robarts (Ralph Richardson) is tended to by aggressive nurse Plimsoll (Deborah Kerr) and is the defender for Leonard Vole (Beau Bridges) who is accused of murdering a wealthy woman for her money. Problems arise when Vole's wife Christine (Diana Rigg) decides to divorce him and testify for the prosecution. And, that's just one of the many surprises in store for Sir Wilfred. Deborah Kerr won an Emmy for her role in this TV production.
