This story is set in the Second Century when Roman soldier Marcus Aquila (Channing Tatum) sets off on a mission to restore the reputation of his father who led the Ninth Legion in Scotland when the Legion disappeared. With his disguised British slave Esca (Jamie Bell) in tow, Marcus travels to the highlands of Caledonia where he confronts savage tribes and attempts to retrieve the Ninth Legion's treasured emblem: the Eagle.
