Henry James' classic tale "The Turn of the Screw" is again brought to the screen with this production shot in Spain. The guardian (Harvey Keitel) of two children hires a young woman (Sadie Frost) as a governess. The children prove to be difficult, and the housekeeper (Lauren Bacall), who really runs the place, is not pleasant to get along with. It soon becomes evident that the house holds a dark secret. Good performances by Keitel and Bacall.
