When Benita dies unexpectedly, Carlitos gathers the money he has saved and sneaks across the border under the back seat of Marta (America Ferrera) and David's (Jesse Garcia) van. But the van is impounded at the border with Carlitos still inside–and Carlitos' troubles continue as he tries to reach his mother.
