This animated version of Batman/Bruce Wayne (voice of Kevin Conroy) begins with the Phantasm, a vicious killer who has killed a crime lord in Gotham City. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne is entertaining Councilman Arthur Reeves (voice of Hart Bochner) who is responsible for the accusations about Batman, and he taunts Wayne about his long-lost love, college sweetheart Andrea (Dana Delany), who left him years before. Now, the story skips back-and-forth between the present and the past, and, in the process, Batman discovers a link between Andrea and the crime villain. The Joker (Mark Hamill) steps in and uncovers the fact that Andrea is the Phantasm, and she is out to avenge her father's (Stacey Keach) murder. Batman arrives on the scene, a battle ensues, and Batman's name is cleared.
