Kale discovers that things in the neighborhood are not as they appear, and one who stands out from the rest is Mr. Turner (David Morse) who has made friends with Kale's mother, Julie (Carrie-Anne Moss). Mr. Turner's classic Ford Mustang just happens to match the description of a car involved in a murder case, and Kale soon begins to suspect that Turner is a serial killer. Kale, Julie, and Ronnie rig cameras hoping to catch evidence on Turner as they stake out his house.

Now, Nora and her friend Caroline (Ari Graynor) are sitting in the bar where Nick's band is playing. Nick and Nora meet, and when Tris notices the attraction they have to each other, she reenters the picture and tries to lure Nick back. Meanwhile, Caroline gets drunk and goes off with Nick's band members (Aaron Yoo and Rafi Gavron), but they lose her. This leads to Nick and Nora forming a bond as they spend the night in Nick's battered yellow Yugo searching for Caroline. The great soundtrack is a highlight of this film.
