  This mystery by Patrick Quentin is somewhat gaudy but still entertaining about goings on in an upper-crust apartment building. Van Heflin plays a married Broadway producer who is suspected of killing Nancy (Peggy Ann Garner) when she turns up dead in his apartment. Detective Lt. C.A.Bruce (George Raft) is on the scene to clear it all up.

  Following the murder of supermodel Vicki Lynn (Jean Peters), police Lt. Ed Cornell (Richard Boone) vigorously steps into the case. He had been in love with Vicki before she gained success and has blamed her publicity man, Steve Christopher (Elliott Reed), for taking her away from him. Now, Cornell is determined to convict Christopher in what seems to be a personal vendetta. But Christopher, with help from Vicki's sister, Jill (Jeanne Crain), tracks down the identity of the real killer and puts an end to the madness.
