The battle begins with the humans as underdogs.

The story begins with a series of flashbacks as Ruby talks to her therapist Meg Ford (Holland Taylor) and tells her that Sam traveled back in time to escape prosecution for his sister's death and because he found a picture of Ruby at home and wanted to find her. Is Sam telling the truth, and will Meg be able to sort things out? Witty and entertaining.

Out of the 40 people aboard, there are only 10 survivors, and they include a prisoner, Riddick (Vin Diesel), and police officer William J. Johns (Cole Hauser) who is transporting Riddick. Tensions reach new heights when it becomes apparent that lethal creatures prowl by night–stalking aliens. Riddick, who has eyes that can see in darkness, is the only one who can see the creatures, and the survivors realize that they must depend on Riddick if they are to escape the creatures that are eating them, one by one.

Meanwhile, Magneto (Ian McKellen) organizes his team of mutants to fight the X-Men. Magneto kidnaps Rogue (Anna Paquin) from the school, and now Xavier and his X-Men come to her rescue. As if dealing with Magneto was not enough, they must also contend with Senator Kelly (Bruce Davison) who wants to force all mutants to register as his anti-mutant solution. Good special effects.
