Halloweentown's hero, Jack Skellington (voice of Chris Sarandon, singing voice of Danny Elfman), takes a walk in the woods and enters a tree that is the doorway to Christmastown. Jack is overwhelmed with the good will he finds and now wants to take over Christmas by kidnapping Santa (voice of Edward Ivory) and do Christmas as only Halloweentown can. They capture Santa, but boogeyman Oogie Boogie (voice of Ken Page) re-captures Santa along with Jack's girlfriend Sally (voice of Catherine O'Hara), which leads to an inevitable confrontation. By story's end, Jack is riding in the sky in a coffin-like sled pulled by skeletal reindeer ready to deliver presents to the world's children. |
