 Anthony Quinn is excellent as the "Old Man" in this TV remake of Ernest Hemingway's tale of the battle fought by Cuban fisherman Santiago (Quinn) when he catches and tries to bring back the big fish. After Santiago manages to harpoon the fish and tie it to his boat, he heads back to Cuba when sharks attack his fish. Santiago battles the sharks, but, by the time he returns to Cuba, his giant fish is nothing but bones. His arrival, however, does gain the respect of fellow fishermen, and Santiago vows to return to the sea.

But, when Christine falls in love with the arrogant Count De Chagny (Adam Storke), Erik seeks vengeance as the masked Phantom.

FBI investigator Peter Keyes (Gary Busey) warns Harrigan and his team to stay out of it, but his advice goes unheeded. More people are killed, including some of Harrigan's team, before Harrigan confronts the Predator, injures it, and becomes the hunter rather than the hunted.

Rusty once had an affair with Carolyn, and, after a few twists and turns, Rusty becomes the accused killer who must go on trial for his life with his former adversary Sandy Stern (Raul Julia) as his defense lawyer. The ending is a shocker.

He finds that the warden fakes executions of inmates and then has them trained as assassins.

Quigley refuses, Marston tries to kill him, Quigley escapes with ex-patriot American Crazy Cora (Laura San Giacomo), and aborigines take care of the fleeing couple. But, by story's end, Marston still must be dealt with.

Of course, things go very wrong in this loser (despite the good cast).
