Though promising not to fight, he can't resist after finding out that the ice house is a front for a drug ring, and two of his cousins are murdered. |

This film won the Best Picture Academy Award, and Gene Hackman and William Friedkin were also honored for Best Actor and Director. Awards were also given for Best Writing and Editing, and nominations were received for Best Supporting Actor (Roy Scheider) and Sound. |
