Problems develop because Ella will not reveal her true identity, but Moss and other clients appear together at Ella's doorstep, and all ends happily. The songs include "Just in Time" and "The Party's Over." The film received an Oscar nomination for Best Scoring of a Musical Picture.

But, policeman Phillippe Forrestier (Louis Jourdan) applies pressure on Simone to close her cafe–until he falls for her, and Simone sees this as the chance to get Francois to marry her. Cole Porter's songs "C'est Magnifique" and "I Love Paris" are highlights of this film.

By story's end, Sam, George, Billy, and Michelle join forces to protect the gold, and Sam and Michelle discover their love for each other.
