He enlists in the Italian army during World War I and is taken under the wing of hospital orderly John (Eli Wallach). Nick falls in love with nurse Rosanna (Susan Strasberg) who tragically dies in an air raid. Through all the suffering, Nick finally attains maturity as a responsible man.

 Hammer Films presents this high-seas adventure about young Jonathan Standing (Kerwin Mathews) who is exiled by his father (Andrew Keir) to a penal colony. The penal colony is invaded by pirates led by Captain LaRoche (Christopher Lee), and Jonathan leads LaRoche and his pirate ship to his Caribbean home where LaRoche believes a treasure is buried. LaRoche takes control of the town while searching for the treasure, and many are killed in the process. Finally, LaRoache finds the treasure–a gold statue of Jonathan's grandfather–and attempts to haul it away. But, Jonathan and his cohorts attack the raft, the statue falls overboard and sinks to the bottom of the sea, La Roche is killed, and the survivors return home.

 Lot (Stewart Granger) is the Hebrew leader who takes his people to the Valley of Jordan and finds that they are caught between the sinful cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. The wicked Queen Bera (Anouk Aimee) rules, and she makes a deal with Lot. She wants to use Lot's Hebrews as her line of defense against the Helamites and, as part of the deal, she gives Lot her slave Ildith (Pier Angeli) as his wife. When Lot realizes that his people are being corrupted by the evil people of Sodom and Gomorrah, he receives a vision from God to lead his people out of the area. As they leave, Ildith turns to look at the crumbling cities and is turned into a pillar of salt.

He had made a pact with the Poles to drive the Turks out of the European steppes but was betrayed when the Poles forced the Cossacks into the hills following the battle. Now, Taras Bulba has settled down to life on a farm when he decides to send his son Andrei (Tony Curtis) to school in Poland where he hopes Andrei will learn more about the hated Poles. While at school, Andrei falls in love with a Polish noblewoman, Natalia Dubrov (Christine Kaufmann). Tensions between father and son rise as each must decide between loyalty for the Cossacks and love. This story was filmed in England in 1939 as "The Rebel Son." An Academy Award nomination was received for Best Musical Score.

This story was remade by Disney in 1993 as "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey."
